Seated very fast, had a beer in front of me in under three minutes. Staff is awesome then the food came, the best Mexican food I've had in Helena.
In my opinion this is the best Mexican restaurant in Helena. My wife and I spoke with the owner of the restaurant, he is the chef as well as the owner. My wife has the ability to discern different seasonings, and ingredients in food. She hit spot on some of those ingredients. While talking to the owner we realized that he prepares everything for his menu. He does not skimp on ingredients. Many restaurants will buy canned products like salsa or refried beans then heart them up and serve them. Not El Solero, his food is all prepared by him. My wife and I totally enjoy the food and the service. I highly recommend El Solero if you are looking for great food!
My husband and I think this is the best Mexican food in Helena. The refried beans, rice, and salsa are not your ordinary. Excellent depth of flavor is definitely the focus. We enjoy the enchiladas, tamales, and tacos. Haven't tried the carnitas yet.
I was looking for a good place to eat out when visiting my mom in town. We found this place nearby, and gave it a go. After finding our way inside the correct door, we sat down and were promptly served. The salsa and chips were great, and the chicken fajitas were amazing. The prices were also very reasonable for the portion sizes. I hope this place continues to succeed as good restaurants in the area have been hard to find. Give them a try!
Very Excellent service and Delicious food, we have always been pleased with what we order. The restroom was very big and clean. Chips and Salsa are fabulous. We will always come back here to eat. Very polite waiter who was there to please.
Really excited to see a different kind of Mexican restaurant in the area. The menu was diverse and different from the typical taco and enchilada combo meals. The gypsy chicken is amazing and the sauce was so creamy and savory. The pork medallions were a surprising combo of sweet and spicy. Cilantro rice, blackened corn, rojo rice, and beans were all fantastic sides. Our waiter was very kind, friendly and made great conversation. Will definitely come back to try the desserts.
Both meals had excellent tasting meat, and flavor. Large portions and great attentive staff. I'll be back.
